Y hotel Hyde Park is close to China Town and next to the famous Hyde park one of the famous park in Sydney, about 10 minutes to Westfield shopping center and 20 minutes to the harbor. Ideal location to see all the attractions and walking distance to public transportation as well. From outside this hotel looks little run down but hotel itself was clean with a choice of shared or en suite rooms. I decided to take a room on my own, even hotels are little expensive in Sydney (in my opinion) but still felt like did not get what I paid for. The room was basic, good bedding with a refrigerator and TV. The TV was frustrating even though I did not spend much time at that little tiny room. Bathroom was clean but tiny. All the amenities were very poor quality, carpet looked dirty to me.
Breakfast was included but the only option was toast and cereal. You have to pay extra for fruit and cooked food. Again paying almost US$ 100 a night, that was not a good value. The stuff were friendly, specially the waiting staff at breakfast. A little disappointed, overall I would give them 3 out of 10, but no doubt that I enjoyed my stay there since the main attractions were so close by, specially the park, really enjoyed walking through the park in the early morning.
