Railay Bay Resort & Spa is one of the few resorts with beachfront access to Krabi’s well-known Railay Beach on a white sandy beach with crystal clear water. A great place to enjoy the view of limestone cliffs of Railay and experience colorful coral reefs and exotic marine life. Moreover, an excellent location for beach hopping and trips to Bamboo, Koh Phi Phi, Maya Bay, Phra Nang, and Ao Nang. Other popular water activities are Kayaking, sunset viewing boat trips, snorkeling, and rock climbing.
After extensive research, I decided to stay at this hotel for four days. I really enjoyed staying here, especially the last 2 and half days, as it stopped raining then. I have been to Phuket a few times but have never been to Krabi, so I was very excited.
Getting There
Arrived at Ao Nang Beach from Krabi Airport by Taxi, which was about 20 – 25 mins drive (cost me 600 Bath) and then took a Long Tail boat to Railay Beach West it’s about 15-20 mins ride to the hotel that is the only way to the hotel from Krabi / Ao Nang. The public long Tail boat charged me 100 Bath and 10 passengers (max) in a boat. Landing in the water with my pants rolled up until I couldn’t pull any further was interesting. I took my bags & backpacks carefully so that they won’t get wet. Then walked through the beautiful beach, and reception was right by the beach.
Hotel Experience
Early checking in was not a problem, surprised to see the wide-open spacious room and the bathroom. I was happy to see that each room has a balcony attached with a beautiful view. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Also, they have onsite tour operators assisting hotel guests even they did not buy tours from them.
This hotel got two swimming pools, one attached to the beach and the other one was all the way at the back. The restaurant was right by the beach, and sitting there, you could relax and enjoy the excellent view of the beach and longtail boat activities. I wouldn’t say I liked the food at the hotel restaurant (taste-wise), but definitely a perfect location for having a few bottles of beer and people watching.

Breakfast was included with plenty of choices and a chef waiting to fulfill your specific order. This tiny island Railay Island got a large convenience store and a few small ones. You could also buy beers and liquors and stock up if you feel like the Hotel minibar is draining out your wallet.
It was completely safe staying on the beach until late at night and enjoy the music coming from walking street. I really loved the fantastic sunrise and sunsets from the beach and captured one of the best pictures.
