Jubilee Hotel in Bandar Seri Begawan is located at the heart of the city in the capital of Brunei. It was just minutes’ walking distance away to the central business district, banks, post office, embassies, airline offices, shopping malls, night markets, restaurants, etc.
As the hotel offers free airport pick-up, I called them soon after I went through customs. At the same time, while I was waiting for my ride located an ATM on the departure floor and withdrew some local currency (Ringgit). In about 15-20 minutes, the driver showed up at the arrival hall with a smile on his face.
It was an easy 15 minutes ride from the airport to the hotel, and there was no traffic jam at all, even at 5 pm on a weekday. The staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful and, in no time, got my room. It was a suite with a big living room and a decent size bedroom with a balcony overlooking the city skyline.
Even though the furniture was a bit old looking, the rooms were clean and equipped with a small dining table, writing desk, mini-fridge, television, Hairdryer, safety deposit box, Wi-FI, and more.
Overall I enjoyed staying there for a few nights, and breakfast was included with the room rate, which was definitely a good deal that I purchased online. Also, it was hard to believe that I got a complimentary city sightseeing tour with the hotel car and, finally, a free transfer to the airport on my return.
