During the summer, hotels in Lucerne, including Ameron Hotel Flora, can become extremely expensive. This is especially true on weekends. Additionally, you may have to wait until the official check-in time of 3:00 PM to get your room, which can be inconvenient. If you’re arriving in the early morning from the USA at Zurich Airport, whether by train or car, be prepared for a longer wait before reaching Lucerne.
The Ameron Hotel is conveniently located just a 2-minute walk from the Lucerne Train Station (Hof Bahnhof) and popular attractions like the Kapellbrucke (Chapel Wooden Bridge) and the Water Tower. If you’re arriving by train, it’s a short walk to reach the hotel. However, if you’re driving, you’ll need to use the hotel’s self-parking option in the basement, which costs an additional CHF 26.00 for 24 hours.
The bed at the hotel was really comfortable, especially the cozy comforter. Additionally, the ferry terminal, where all the trips start, was just a short walk away from the hotel. We took a ferry from there for our trips to Mount Rigi and Mount Pilatus.
