Nothing much to do at night in Bandar Seri Begawan, so early bed and waking up early was the best option for me. However, my brain had difficulty sleeping with all the excitement, so I prematurely woke up at 4:00 am. That early in the morning, a rooster crowing like crazy from a far distance made me curious. By 6:00 am, I was ready to go with my gear for a walk. No worries, as breakfast will be served between 7:00 – 9:30, so there is plenty of time to stroll in the relatively quiet city for the fun visit Tamu Kianggeh (Kianggeh Morning Market) and return to hotel on time for breakfast.

Morning Market

I left the hotel straight on Jalan Kampong Kianggesh until I hit the main road Jalan Kianggesh, a canal running along the main road. rewrite this sentence with NO passive word

Tamu Kianggeh Morning Market, Brunei
There were wide varieties of fish on sale.

Right at the entrance spotted the Rooster that had been bothering me since early in the morning, not one but two of them in two different cages. They looked very healthy, pumped, and ready to fight. Yes, people train them well to fight, and fighting roosters are a highly popular and expensive sport in that area.

Fresh Fish

The market opens at 5:30. I arrived a little early, around 6:30, but discovered that it usually becomes overcrowded around 10 am. As the weather in Brunei is hot, most local does their marketing early in the morning. They sell food too but mostly takeaways and local cakes and delicacies. Since Brunei is multicultural, there are different types of local sweets available, I spoke to a few of the vendors and got the name but too bad that I lost the note, but I still remember that cake is Kuih in their language.

People were friendly there, very helpful, and always communicated with smiles. Even though English has widely spoken the language, communicating with some of the vendors was only possible with help from someone
